Dax and the Dream Library - Paragraph 1
1 / 5

🔊 Listen to this story

In the quiet village of Hollowbrook, there lived a boy named Dax who found it hard to fall asleep. Every night he would toss and turn, listening to the wind whisper through the old willow tree outside his window.

One night, Dax noticed a soft golden glow coming from a hollow in that very willow tree. Curious, he tiptoed outside and found a wise old owl named Pemberly sitting beside rows of tiny glowing jars, each one holding a gentle dream.

"Welcome to the Dream Library," Pemberly hooted softly. "Every jar holds a dream waiting to be borrowed. Tell me, what kind of night are you hoping for?" Dax thought for a moment and whispered, "Something calm, like floating on quiet water."

Pemberly smiled and gently lifted down a jar that shimmered like moonlight on a lake. Inside, tiny clouds drifted like soft boats across a peaceful sky. "This one is perfect for you," she said, placing it carefully in his hands.

Dax carried the jar home, climbed into bed, and held it close as its warm light spread across his blanket. Before he even noticed, his eyes grew heavy, and he drifted off to sleep, floating gently through his calm, quiet dream until morning.
